AWS Launches Amazon Connect Health AI Agent Platform for Health Care Providers

Amazon Connect Health, introduced by AWS, is an agentic AI solution specifically developed for healthcare providers to alleviate administrative burdens and enhance patient care accessibility. The platform leverages AI agents to automate high-volume operational tasks, including patient identity verification, appointment scheduling, reviewing patient medical histories, clinical documentation, and medical coding. By streamlining these routine processes, the system enables clinicians and care teams to dedicate more time to direct patient treatment. The AI agents are designed to understand conversational context and patient preferences, handling interactions and inquiries around the clock. Critically, the system can discern when human intervention is necessary, escalating complex or sensitive issues to staff members. Amazon Connect Health builds upon the existing Amazon Connect cloud contact center platform and seamlessly integrates with electronic health record (EHR) systems used by hospitals and clinics.
